Government updates guidance for employers on making a claim through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme to reflect the changes to the scheme

Summary

From 1 September 2020 the government grant under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) will cover 70% of an employee’s usual monthly wage costs for the hours they are being furloughed, up to £2,187.50. Employers will have to pay 10% of employees’ wages for the time they are being furloughed. Employers will also continue to pay their National Insurance and pension contributions. This funding level will remain in place until the end of September.
