MHRA approves the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Oxford University/AstraZeneca

Summary

Following expert scientific review and advice of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) independent advisory board, the MHRA approves a second COVID-19 vaccine for use in the UK on people aged 18 years or older. The vaccine was developed by Oxford University/AstraZeneca using vaccine vector technology. The vaccine can be stored in a conventional fridge (at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C) for up to 6 months. The vaccine will be deployed through hospital hubs, local community services and vaccination centres.
