Summary

National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) announce the award of funding for research into COVID-19. Six research projects are announced in the first wave of UKRI/Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) research funding. Projects include trials of a new COVID-19 vaccine, repurposing existing treatments for COVID-19, developing antibodies that target COVID-19, testing approved drugs, and more. £10.5m is awarded.
