Ofqual announces that the release of some technical and vocational qualification results is delayed

Sub-theme: Education

The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) states that some awarding organisations for vocational and technical qualifications are reconsidering their approach to calculating results. They originally used an approach similar to the algorithmic approach used for GCSEs and A levels, and have now decided to place greater weight on 'the most trusted evidence available'. The organisations that used qualification-level centre assessment grades will be able to recalculate results and issue them on time, but others will take more time due to their more complex approach. No learner’s result will go down as a consequence of regrading. For all awarding organisations, both their original approaches and their revised approach are in line with Ofqual’s vocational and technical qualifications (VTQ) regulatory framework.
